Rules of Engagement

Airsoft Rules of Engagement

Before the game...

1] Gun Responsibility/Care:
When you are not playing a game it's important to:
- Keep magazines out of your gun.
- Keep your muzzle down. Do not casually wave your gun around.
- Keep your finger off of your trigger at all timesThe only time your finger should ever touch the trigger is when you are prepared to shoot.

2] Loadout:
You should always carry your own necessary loadout with you. Spare ammo, watch, map, water, whatever may be required for the given location or game. You should always try to wear proper camo/colors and gear for the given play field. You may not care if you're easily seen but your teammates will. Also, wearing proper camouflage is two fold; you get seen [shot] less readily & being shot wearing BDUs generally hurts far less as well.

During the game...

1] Hydration:
After all, this is a desert we play in! The combination of humidity (or lack thereof), sun and being 2300 feet above sea level can wear on a person. Particularly when you are wearing 20+ lbs. of gear and carrying an airsoft rifle while running, diving, jumping, climbing and generally avoiding having your ass shot off. Please take into account the amount of water you have and make sure you keep any hydration packs leveled off with cool (not cold) water for your day in the field. Nothing says "game over" like a trip to urgent care for dehydration.

2] Shooting An Opponent:
(Part One - Rifle Fire)
At no point should you ever engage an opponent within 20 feet of your person with a rifle. AEG, GBB or otherwise. An airsoft rifle is a powerful piece of equipment shooting rounds at 300+ feet per second. Hitting a person point blank can and will cause "un-fun" damage to their equipment or their body. Intentional or repeated ignorance to this rule will have you ejected from our games.

(Part Two - Pistol Fire)
You should never fire your airsoft pistol at a target closer then 10 feet. Just like the airsoft rifle, shooting an opponent point blank can and will cause "un-fun" damage to their equipment or their body. Intentional  or repeated ignorance to this rule will have you ejected from our games.

(Part Three - Sniper Fire)
Airsoft sniper rifles are generally even more powerful then an airsoft rifle. This in mind you cannot fire on an opponent within 30 feet of you. You must, for this reason, carry a lesser side-arm when sniping during our airsoft games. Intentional or repeated ignorance to this rule will have you ejected from our games.

(Part Four - Overkill)
We are all friends here out to have some fun - Do not overkill your opponents. If your target calls your hit, do not shoot them again. Intentional or repeated ignorance to this rule will also have you ejected from our games.

3] Safety Kills/Minimum Range:
When you're at a range where it may be dangerous to shoot someone, use a "Safety Kill" such as yelling "Bang, your dead". It's cheesy, but benefits everyone. The usual safety kill range is generally within 10 to 20 feet.

4] Getting Shot:
This game is 100% honor system driven. When you are shot, suck it up and call out your hits by yelling out "Hit!", "Dead!" or "Out!". If you have a red "Death Rag", or other notation of being hit, place it on your head and/or hold your gun above your head as you exit the play area.

5] Gun Malfunction/Out of Ammo:
If at any point your airsoft gun is malfunctioning or out of ammo, you cannot "Safety Kill". At this point you may either melee kill opponents or attempt to sneak off the field to make repairs and/or reload. If you are shot in an attempt to sneak off then you are out. Bare in mind that if you concede and exit the field with your gun above your head you may not return until the round is over.

Melee rules of engagement...

1] Melee Weapons:
- All melee weapons must be a pre-declared and approved before entering any game field [no improvising in the field].
- All melee weapons must be comprised of light, soft, smooth plastic, or rubber [no rigid blades or notable seams that could potentially cut].
- No melee weapons may be made from wood or metal of any kind [no steel, aluminum, etc.].

2] Melee Weapon Use:
- All melee hits must be made from the shoulders down, excluding the groin. [neck and head hits are prohibited].
- All melee hits must be taps or swipes [tapping and slashing are valid hits, thrusting is not].
- All successful melee hits delivered anywhere on the body from the neck down are kill hits [any contact to arms, legs and torso are kills].

3] Physical Contact:
Under no circumstances what so ever is there to be any physical contact between players, period;
- No grabbing.
- No pushing.
- No grappling.
- No hitting.
- No physical contact [outside of your melee weapon].

Failure to comply with the ROE will result in your ejection from our games.
